We both have always known that we wanted to start a family and that day has finally come. Our bundle of joy that we refer to as ABAK is due July 4, 2012!
ABAK - Yang created this name using the first and middle intials of the names we have chosen. AB is our girl name and AK for a boy.
Our Journey Thus Far
December 2010 -move to Boston, decide if things are going well we may try sometime in late 2011
April 2011- We decide to set an official ttc start date of May 2012. Yin begins temping, charting and taking prenatals
May 2011- We decide May 2012 is just too long to wait, we will start ttc in August 2011!
May 23, 2011- Consultation with the midwives clinic that will perform our iui
June 2011- After browsing a number of profiles, we find our perfect donor. We purchase 6 vials and had them shipped to our midwive’s clinic
August 19, 2011 – IUI #1, Yin freaks out thinking we missed ovulation so we do the iui entirely too early–BFN!
September 15, 2011 -IUI#2. We get better with the timing but still too early–BFN!
October 11, 2011- Lucky IUI#3 We do the IUI on the day Yin ovulates!
October 20, 2011- BFP! We get our two pink lines! We have our positive confirmed beta 11
October 26, 2011- Beta has more than doubled and is now 85!
October 29, 2011- Betas are 741. that night we have a BIG scare Yin starts bleeding
October 30, 2011 We head to the ER. No cause of bleeding is determined. Our betas look good and have now risen to 1000. We see the yolk sac on the ultrasound.
November 1, 2011- Betas still look great 2146!
November 9, 2011- 5 weeks, 5 days we see ABAK’s heart fluttering at 111 beats per minute!
December 11, 2011- Bleeding has started …again we head to the ER and leave with no answers. Betas look great though at over 100,000.
December 12, 2011- What a way to spend Yin’s birthday lol. We get the best gift when we see little ABAK kicking and bouncing around in there, heart beating nice and strong at 166 beats per minute.
December 23, 2011- The bleeding and spotting has continued for 13 days now, but we finally get some answers. After weekly ultrasounds it’s finally diagnosed the Yin has Subchorionic Hematoma (SCH). ABAK is still doing great, but we will have biweekly OB appointments to keep an eye on things and to give us reassurance that our babe is still growing in there!
